Offline trade show lead capture

Updated August 2026

Why offline matters on the show floor

  • Cloud scanners stop working when the venue network drops
  • Shared WiFi on exhibition halls is often slow or restricted
  • Strategic leads should not transit through unknown SaaS servers by default

How PikScan captures leads offline

  1. Prepare: create the event, import an exhibitor list (CSV/Excel), plan booth visits.
  2. Scan: OCR a business card in about 3 seconds, or read a vCard QR / LinkedIn code — no internet.
  3. Qualify: mark hot / warm / cold, add categories, pipeline stage and voice notes.
  4. Follow up: after the show, launch temperature-based sequences and work the daily queue.
  5. Export: share Excel (.xlsx) or CRM-ready files when you choose (HubSpot, Salesforce, Odoo, Pipedrive on Pro).

Data location

OCR runs on device. Contacts and media live in a local SQLite database. Backups are user-initiated files (.pikscan / .pikscan.zip). PikScan does not operate a sync server for leads.

Limits (Free vs Pro)

  • Free: 1 event, 25 contacts, 25 prep exhibitors, Excel export, limited hot follow-ups
  • Pro: unlimited events/contacts/prep, full CRM exports, unlimited follow-ups, day-14 report
